The passing of Sophie Starko (Sherwood Park, Alberta) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on February 16, 2026. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Sophie is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Sophie's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Al Starko. She is survived by: her children, Maureen (Alex), David (Kim), Kathy (Larry), Susan (Cleo) and Teena (Tony). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, February 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church (12 Brower Dr, Sherwood Park, AB T8H1V3).
