He is survived by: his close friend Elaine Daley; his children, Guy Shapka (Tammy) of Alix and Janice Shapka (Rupert) of Okanagan Falls; his grandchildren, Jordan Shapka, Jay Pieschel, Rae Lee Erickson (Devon), Tanner Shapka and Teagan Shapka; his great grandchild Callie Shapka; and his sister Caroline Butlin of Calgary. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
