He is survived by : his wife Violet; his sons, Scott (Valerie) of St Albert, Tom (Susan) of Southampton and Steven (Wendy) of Fort McMurray, Alberta; his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Bradley Rutherford, Chelsea Rutherford, Cole, Ethan and Aliah Rutherford; his siblings, Michael Rutherford (Suzanne), Janet Rutherford and Joan Rutherford; his stepbrother Bill Whetstone (Pat); and his sister-in-law Shirley Rutherford. He is also survived by his friends and coffee partners.
