Garry W Williams Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Garry Wayne Williams (Sylvan Lake, Alberta), who passed away on April 29, 2021 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Garry (Poppo/Gig) Williams was born August 11, 1954 and passed peacefully at home on April 29, 2021. Garry was an incredibly loving family man who was loved and cherished by many as he gave selflessly to everyone around him. His passion and zest for life radiated from him as he had been a professional level martial artist, water skier, downhill skier, golfer, and ocean lifeguard. He mastered every craft he studied and had proven this by becoming a master construction worker, numerous award winning food salesman, and chef as well as a very successful and top rated businessman.

He learned to build computers and install software much ahead of what was available at the time, and he shared everything he had with everyone. One thing is that he never took life too seriously as he was always ready to make a joke, comment, or even break out dancing that would radiate positive light, and uplift those around him. He was pure of heart and this shined through him continuously.

Garry remained strong and passionate about life until his last day and had always said that when he were to go on with Christ that he had hoped it would be while in his sleep. He was a very peaceful man who helped make anyone feel calm and at ease as he was about the simple things in life and found joy in family and being surrounded by those he loved, especially his wife, Marlene.

Garry will be greatly missed and created an impact on many that goes beyond what one can imagine or be put into words. An extraordinary example of a good man with everlasting love, caring and selflessness,

He was loved, cherished and survived by many people including : his loving wife Marlene of 37 years; his daughter Dianne "Birdie" Neudorf (Terry); his grandchildren, Brandon, Breanna (Daniel), Kassidy (Sophie) and Chelsea; great grand daughter Avery; his parents, Robert Williams and Loretta Williams; his siblings, Karen Fenty, Shawna Traptow (Paul) and Dale Williams (Linda); his nieces and nephews, Allison (Jeff), Jenelle (Brent), Jessica (Dave), Peter, Josh, Jarett (Stephanie) and Joel; his great-nephew Grayson; and his great-niece Olivia.

At Garrys request, no service will be held.

Derek Fenty wrote a sympathy message

“Our deepest condolences go out to Marlene, Birdie, Brandon, and the entire Williams family. Garry was a character, a good hearted person and fun to be around. He scared the crap out of me when we went skiing together, because trees and boulders were just fun challenges for him, but a nightmare for me. He was strong and good at so many physical things, but I was so proud of the businessman he became, and how he turned his life around when he met Marlene and Birdie. With love, Derek & Judi.”
