He was predeceased by: his parents, Irma Gyori and Tom Gyori; his sister Bonnie; his parents-in-law, Phyllis and Gordon Erickson; and his niece Erica Engman.

He is survived by: his wife Deborah; his children, Carley Whitell (Dave), Cailyn Brand (Ian), Chris (Giselle) and Connor (Saniata); his close friend Sophie Little; his siblings, Judith Park (Dean), Alberta Bassetto, Paul (Debbie), Dan (Lisa), Tim (Leanne), Ross (Aleatha) and Lorne (Angela); and his sisters-in-law, Gail Wine (Doug), Joanne Girard (Gerry), Jeannie Robertson (John), Donna Stockman (Jamie), Gwen Engman (Les) and Pam Decker (Mike). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
