He was predeceased by: his parents, Tony Megyes and Anna Megyes; his sister Maggie Jonker; and his parents-in-law, Bob and Mary Krakowski.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Megyes; his children, John Megyes (Joely) of Coaldale, Carolyn Moerkerk (Fred) of Lethbridge, Mary-Ann Tingey (Arthur) of Edmonton and Julie Pineault (Hugue) of Leoville, Saskatchewan; his grandchildren, Lyndley, Aidan, Robyn (Gerrick), Quinlan, Jarvis (Amber), Toni (Brandon), Sawyer, Kelli, Pascal and Olivia; his great grandchildren, Elliot, Chelsea and Liliana; his brother-in-law Bob Krakowski (Lana); and his sibling's children, Layne Krakowski, Shana Krakowski, Art Jonker and Doug Jonker.
