He was predeceased by : his daughter Christine; and his siblings, Adolph, Leo Schmidt, Frieda Connolly and Rose Gellert.
He is survived by : his wife Ella; his children, Dorothy Ritz (Randy) of Edmonton, Noreen Seib (Don) of Airdrie, Rita Raffety (Brian) of Norfolk, Nebraska and Lorne Schmidt (Hiede) of Macau; his grandchildren, Elias Ritz (Heather), Talia Ritz, Duran Ritz (Mackenzie), Victoria Seib, Collin Seib, Marie Kucera (Warren), Joel Raffety (Amanda), Garett Schmidt (Jen) and Christina Schmidt; his great grandchildren, Rylan, Kaiden Kucera, Maeleigh and Lincoln Raffety; and his sisters-in-law, Theresa Schmidt, Emma Provence, Irma Schmidt and Lucille Schmidt. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Due to COVID restrictions, attendance will be by invitation only.
