He was predeceased by: his former wife Shirley Epp; his son Lowell; his parents, Peter Epp and Anna Epp; his siblings, Annie Schaffer (Albert), Peter Epp (Elsie) and Frank Epp (Hilda); and his in-laws, Walter Dirks and Jake Janzen.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Dyck Epp; his grandchildren, Alexander Epp (Mackenzie), Danielle Kerr (Daniel), Larissa Dyck (Jamie), Daniel Dyck (Birgit), Rebecca Woycechowsky (Marc), Christine Dyck (Danny), Lindsay Dyck (Brendan), Justin Dyck (Jen) and Ashley Dyck; and his sisters, Marie Dirks and Margaret Janzen.
