He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed McCormick and Madeleine McCormick; his sister Martha; his brother-in-law Ken Ovelson; his brother Teddy; and his niece Madeleine Common (Jim).

He is survived by: his nephew Don Ovelson (Marlene); his great-nephew Mark Common (Izabella); and his great-niece Lana Nicoll (Derek).
