He is survived by: his daughter Michelle Kleefman (Ken); his grandchildren, Ariel (Kendal), Reann, Hayley (Tristan), Jordan (Jackie), Cas (Sean), Cam (Tones) and Donna Melenka (Kevin); his great grandchildren, Matthew (Shaylene), Kaitlyn (Dylan S.) and Alysha (Dylan H.); and his sister Alice Sokoluk.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the "Akasu Palliative Care Society.".
