He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Hanchar and Marlene Hanchar. He is survived by: his wife Joy Hanchar; his children, Steve Hanchar (Dianna), Michael Hanchar (Brenda) and Andrea "Angel" Hanchar (Dave); his grandchildren, Dylan, Brandon, Paige, Keenan "Bean", Bailee, Kaylen, Danica and Jordan; his great grandchild Hadley; and his brother Bentley Hanchar. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and spiritually adopted family.

The family asks that all donations in Brad's honour are to be made to either of the following foundations: Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation.
