It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gregory Ronald Whitney of Vermilion, Alberta, who passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Loyd Whitney; and his brother-in-law Curtis Muchowski. He is survived by: his wife Cat Whitney; his children, Brandon Whitney (Kelsy), Danielle Strunk (Haiden) and Devon Whitney (Abby Skjaveland); his stepchildren, Colton Waltz, Jerrica Schacher (Colby) and Breanne Waltz (Alex Wasylik); his grandchildren, Thea Whitney, Addison, Sawyer Strunk, Avery Waltz and Schacher; his mother Darlene Whitney; his sisters, Patty Schmidt (Marty) and Shelley Giles (Jared); his parents-in-law, Lawrence and Sylvia Muchowski; his pets, Stella, Maizie and Arlo; and the mother of his children Kristine Whitney. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Vermilion Elks Hall (5026 49 Ave, Vermilion, AB T9X1B7).
