As Lyda departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Lyda. Though Lyda may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Schaefer and Theresa Schaefer; and her sister Betty Schaefer. She is survived by: her husband Ralph Berkan; and her children, Marlene Schenstead (Eric), Dwayne Born, Sharon Pringle, Lynda Mari (Dean) and David Born (Robin). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
