He was predeceased by: his parents, Soren and Agnes; and his sister June. He is survived by: his wife Jenny; his children, Chyrese Battaglia (Joe) and Kelly Maygard (Doris); his grandchildren, Ryan (Robyn), Rhonda (Darcy), Travis and James (Alicia); and his siblings, Karen, Betty and Chris (Diane). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
