He was predeceased by: his wife Ethel; his son Glen; his daughter-in-law Jeannie Howie; his parents, Archie Howie and Hazel Howie; his sister Patsy Morland (Tom Morland); and his brother-in-law Ted Reitsma.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Howie (Murray), Janet Riopel (Marty) and Dean Howie (Lisa); his grandchildren, Nicole Chodak (Chris), Brandon Chodak (Lindsay), Don Nelson, Paige Nelson (Adam), Douglas Riopel (Courtney), Real Riopel (Brittany), Tonya Goulet, Jason Howie, Taylor Howie, Dustin Howie and Taetum Scott (Matt); his great grandchildren, Kayla, Xanthan, Hunter, Skye, Phoenix, Logan, Ariah, Lucas, Rhea, Oaklynn, Austin, Cohen, Bailey, Emmett, Archer, Grayson, Harper and Ainsley; his great great grandchildren, Octavia and Alkia; his sister Carol Reitsma; and his sisters-in-law, Norma Klotz, Betty Earle and Bonnie Breadon (Ed). He is also survived by extended family and a large circle of friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Hazel Bluff Community Hall (10711 104 Ave, Westlock, AB T7P2E6).
