He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry James and Irene Sloat; his son Russell Sloat; his siblings, Margaret, Ivey, Hazel, Mildred, Myrtle, Dorleen, Mable, James, Alfred, Henry and Lloyd; and his son-in-law Michael (Barb Clements).
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Steinke (Curley); his stepdaughters, Beverley (Terry Comeau) and Barbara Clements; his grandchildren, Adrian, Lindsey, Jason and Garrison; and his siblings-in-law, Henry Diederich and Rosemarie Sloat. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
