He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Buhler and Katherina Buhler; his wife Mary; his stepmother Anna; his siblings, John, Tina, Peter, Lena and Sarah; and his nephew Peter Buhler.

He is survived by: his sister Mary Neufeld; and his children, Linda, Rosanna, Charlotte and Tim.
