She was predeceased by: her parents, Philip Leonard Hubert Esser and Antoinetta Lambertha Wilhelmina; her husband Harry Antonius Verheijen; and her siblings, Ans, Eugenie, Cobie and Philip.

She is survived by: her siblings, Federico (Mieke), Loes (Robby) and Ingrid; her sister-in-law Riet; her nieces and nephews, Marianne (Brian), Antoine (Ange), Harry and Anita; her grandchildren, Nicole, Stacey, Shawna (Hristo), Alanna (Julie), Anatol (Chris) and Claire (Corrie); her stepgrandchildren, Maria (Ryan) and Andrea (Erik); her great grandchildren, Kasey, Isaac, Eve, Daniel, Elliot and Emma; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Isaac, Rhiannon and Madelyn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
