Edward Leonard Rempel Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edward Rempel (Abbotsford, British Columbia), who passed away on June 11, 2018 at the age of 82. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Edward Rempel to pay them a last tribute.

Edward was predeceased by : his parents, Dietrich D. and Margareta Rempel; his brothers, George Rempel, Ewald Rempel, Abe Rempel and Clarence Rempel; and his son Edward Bruce Rempel. He is survived by : his sister Hertha Follis (Glenn), Herb Rempel (Verda), Verna Woloshen (Mike); his wife Myrtle-Anne; his children, Cheryl Holmes (Denis Lampron) and Kirk William D. Rempel; his grandchildren, Derek Holmes (Victoria), Meredith Holmes, Shae-Lynn Rempel (Evyn Bartlett), Samantha Rempel and Alyssa Rempel; his great grandchildren, Chase, Spence, Oliver, Ricardina, Vanessa, Sydney and Elyse.

Edward Rempel was Co-Founder of Rempel Brothers Concrete, LTD and a Superintendent of Pacific Petroleum Gas and Oil Refinery, among other businesses. He was was a lifetime member, co-founder and one of the first presidents of the Independent Contractors and Businesses Association (ICBA) of B.C. He also served as president of the Amalgamated Construction Association of Canada, the BC Concrete Association and was a member of other boards including the Economic Development Advisory Board for the City of Abbotsford, the United Way and the Sevenoaks Alliance Finance Committee.
