Nienke Smit Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nienke Smit of Abbotsford, British Columbia, who passed away on February 27, 2026 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband William Smit (Bill); her parents, Dirk Pals and Ryna Pals (Aaldyk); and her sister-in-law Frankie Pals. She is survived by: her brother Peter Pals; and her children, Peter Smit (Linda), Cathy Hanko (Fred), Dorothy VanKoughnet (Scott), Richard Smit (Tricia) and Wiliam Smit (Faith). She is also survived by 21 grandchildren (1 in glory), 23 great grandchildren.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in Nancy's memory to the Emmanuel Free Reformed Church or Covenant Christian School (9088 Northwood Road – Lynden, WA 98264).
