He was predeceased by: his daughter Michelle; his parents, Jan Leendert and Adrianna; his father-in-law Morris; his siblings, Louisa and Rien; and his siblings-in-law, Earl, Tony and Carol.

He is survived by: his wife Colleen; his children, James and Rebecca (Dana); his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Cayden and Tristan; his brothers, Leen (Hilde) and Kees (Toke); his brother-in-law Krijn; his mother-in-law May Magee; and his siblings-in-law, Karen, Catherine and Don (Susanne).

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peter's name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
