With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Kate Wawrychuk (Agassiz, British Columbia), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Kate left this world on February 23, 2026 at the age of 88, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her siblings, Peter, Tom and Syd; her brothers-in-law, Bob Gifford and Ted Pawluk; her daughter-in-law Sue Deacon; and her parents, Mary Kathleen and Richard Archibald Fry.
She is survived by: her children, Ede (Jim), Will (Shauna), Mike and Dave (Kelly); her grandchildren, Natasha (Dave), Mark (Jen), Eric (Brittany), Emma (Liam), Luke, Ellen, Jack (Natalie) and Tom; her great grandchildren, Meghan, Emma, Madison, Braden, Mila and Hudson; her siblings, Mary (Art), Joanne (Paul), Sue, Ede (Wendy), George (Lynda), Ruth (Bob) and Sam (Melanie); and her sisters-in-law, Betty-Lou Fry, Jane Fletcher and Olga Pawluk. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Beautiful Fraser River Lodge (7984 McDonald Rd S, Agassiz, BC V0M1A0).
Memorial donations may be made in Kate's name to Plan International Canada at https://plancanada.ca., a charity that she and Frank supported for decades.
