He is survived by: his children, Susan Basler (Allan), Del and Sandi of Edmonton; and his grandchildren, Brianne Emily Shanks, Erin Elizabeth Sands, Sydney Susanna Cardinal-Sands and Elliot Ian Sands. He is also survived by his wife and three children.
