With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Giovanni Salvatore Cannata (Burnaby, British Columbia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 13, 2025 at the age of 94. Though Giovanni may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Giovanni touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Luigi Cannata and Rosina Cannata; and his grandfather John. He is survived by: his wife Gina; his daughter Rosetta Wilkie (Bill); his grandchildren, Johnathan Cannata (Amanda) and Carly Da Silva (Eduardo); and his great grandchildren, Isabella, Anajulia Cannata, Harper and Giorgia Da Silva.
