With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ivan Jelic (Burnaby, British Columbia), who passed away on April 14, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, we release Ivan into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of our lives. And as we carry his memory forward, may we find comfort in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Ivan's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Ante Jelic and Maria Jelic; and his siblings, Jozo and Andja. He is survived by : his wife Dragica; his children, Barbara and Ivan (Kelly); and his sister Anka.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ocean View Funeral Home and Burial Park (4000 Imperial St, Burnaby, BC V5J1A4). A procession was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at 3638 E 45th Ave, Vancouver, BC V5R3G4. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary (3105 E 1st Ave, Vancouver, BC V5M1B6). A reception was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:00 PM and at 1:30 PM at the Slovenian Hall (5762 Sprott St, Burnaby, BC V5G1T7).

I have so many memories of Mr. Jelic - telling jokes, always looking after his garden, driving Barbara and me wherever we needed to go, watching over us and the neighborhood. He will be missed by so many. Sending a warm embrace and all my love during this sad time. You are in my heart and thoughts always.”
