It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Watt of Burnaby, British Columbia, born in Edmonton, Alberta, who passed away on July 31, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his stepmother Anne; his stepbrothers, Harvey and Robert Weiss (Bobby); his brothers, Don and George (Geordie); and his granddaughter Ellinor Watt Sjöström.
He is survived by: his aunt Jean Hinkley; his children, Cameron (Cam), Alanna and Graham; his wife Diane; his children-in-law, Jesper Sjöström and Jennifer Yu-Ling Watt (Jen); his grandchildren, Alexis Hand, Cayden, Aislyn Watt, Sofia, Hugo Watt Sjöström, Hannah, Elijah and Naomi Watt (Omi); his daughter-in-law Jen; and also Anne.
After an active lifetime of service – service to his country, his family and friends – Al was diagnosed with ALS in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.
