She was predeceased by: her husband Luciano; and her parents, Luigi Casella and Clementina Casella. She is survived by: her children, Dennis (Cindy), Doris (Jim) and Terry; her grandchildren, Amanda, Kyle, Melissa (Kristian), Ryan, Santina (Sam) and Paisley; and her sisters, Ida and Lea. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Maria's honour may be made to the Canuck Place Children's Hospice.
