Patricia Yvonne Lee Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Patricia Yvonne Lee (nee: Vogt) after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was compassionately cared for throughout the challenges of dementia by her loving and devoted husband, Norm, both at home and daily at the Campell River Hospital, where she spent her last three months.
She is survived by her by loving husband, Norm Lee, daughters Cathryn Lee, Debra Lee (Scott Gloster), grandsons Mathieu Gagnon and Joshua Gloster, brothers John (Joan) Vogt, Peter (Rachelle) Vogt, brother's in-law Rob (Wendy) Lee, Brad (Dan) Lee as well as numerous other family members, close friends and long-time neighbours.
Raised in Burnaby, Patricia moved to Campbell River immediately after marrying the love of her life, Norm, in 1967 where she then worked at BC Tel and later at Island Industrial Chrome until retirement at age 54.
She and Norm spent many memorable years volunteering with the museum at Campbell River where she took great pride and enjoyment in organizing and working with the school programs. Here, she was fortunate to have developed a wonderful group of friends who supported her continued volunteering for as long as she was able to with Alzheimer's.
One of her many joys was spending time with her grandsons sharing the stories and history from the museum at Campbell River.
Patricia enjoyed gardening for as long as she was able to with her husband at her side. In her earlier years Patricia participated fishing in the Tyee Club while, in her later years, she enjoyed going for walks along the Tyee Spit and Friday night dinners at the Eagles with friends.
She will be fondly remembered for her laughter, kindness and beautiful smile.
A loving wife, mom, grandmother and friend is now at peace.
We would like to extend our appreciation to Dr. McEwen and the staff at the Campbell River Hospital for their care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Alzheimer's Society or Cancer Society would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life is to follow in the spring when the Magnolia tree blooms.
