He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorenzo Leroy and Audrey Alice Maynard (Collison); his stepdaughter Teresa DeGroot; and his siblings, Alice Mills, Elsie Marlatt, Gladys McCaughan, Florence Drake, Mavis Tapley, Bea Mawby, Vivian Hetland, Leroy, Delmer, Wes, Dick, Alfred and Fred.

He is survived by: his wife Lila; his children, Lisa Leuenberger, Rodney Maynard and Cindy Maynard; his stepchildren, Tony DeGroot, Joan Bohac (Jim), Shelly Edwards (Mark) and Sherry Vink (Ron); and his sister Mae Hill. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chilliwack Cemeteries (10010 Hillcrest Dr, Chilliwack, BC V2P7X1). A reception was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Henderson's Funeral Home & Crematorium (45901 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack, BC V2P2S9).
