With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Makereta Ranige Chand of Coquitlam, British Columbia, who passed away on June 15, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Makereta Ranige departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Makereta Ranige may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Makereta Ranige leaves behind.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Emeli Menrou Saumative and Eliesa Vakara Panapasa (Paneasa); and her son-in-law Wayne Livingstone. She is survived by: her children, Rebecca Livingstone, Sosefo (Laleena) and Andrew; her grandchildren, Mathew Livingstone, June Livingstone, Rasik Chand and Jiyah Chand; and her sister Betty Avaiki (Sosefo). She is also survived by nieces and nephews; and numerous relatives.
