It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Emelene Vernice Ellwood of Courtenay, British Columbia, born in Nanaimo, British Columbia, who passed away on January 9, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Margaret Higgins and Fred Higgins. She is survived by : her husband Tom; her children, Patricia Roed (Wes) of Campbell River and John Ellwood (Jackie) of Victoria; her grandchildren, Ryan, Corbin, Spencer Roed and Ashley Ellwood (Graeme); her niece Delaine (Paul); and her nephew Gordon (Colleen). She is also survived by her extended family and many, many good friends.
