He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis and Sophia. He is survived by: his girlfriend Heather Bould; his stepdaughters, Alana and Karen; his sisters, Sandi Shapira (Montreal) and Marlene Wiseman; and his brother-in-law Phil (Ontario).
Upon his retirement he was awarded the first ever HEU Social Justice award for his tireless contribution to social justice both locally and globally.
