He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris and Ronald; and his sister Irene. He is survived by: his wife Jean; his sons, Jonathan, Mel Jr. and Billy; his stepson Murray; his siblings, Diane (Bud), Lil (Bob), Ann (Bill), Coleen (Tom), Fay (Al) and Jim (Ann); and his parents-in-law, Gordon (Charlotte) and Marion. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
