He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Anni Samsom of Boer and Anton Samsom; his spouse Ied Stokhuyzen; his close friend Hazel Serin; his children, Robert (Dixie), David (Christina) and Katherine; and his grandchildren, Kristi, Lindsay, Trevor, Justin, Nicolas and Darren. He was also cherished by five great-grandchildren.
