The memory of Shirley Mae Stewart in Courtenay, British Columbia, who passed away on September 12, 2025 at the age of 88, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. Though Shirley may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Shirley touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Percy Lougheed and Margaret Lougheed; her brother Dick Lougheed (Gwen Howell); her former husband Frank Naswell; and her grandson Bryce Langhorn.
She is survived by: her children, Lu-Anne Dalziel (Don), Wayne Naswell (Val), Floyd Naswell (Fabienne), Barbara Langhorn, John Naswell, Rob Naswell (Deb) and Cindy Palma (Mike). She is also survived by 16 Grandchildren and 27 Great Grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Courtenay Legion (367 Cliffe Ave, Courtenay, BC V9N2J1).
