It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Joseph Gies of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, born in Waterloo, Ontario, who passed away on March 23, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Gies and Jean Gies; his wife Ruth Gies; and his son-in-law Bill Schiedel. He is survived by : his children, Kathy Schiedel, Lori Ann Schwietzer (Darren) and Rick Gies (Linda); and his siblings, Norman "Buddy" Gies, Ray Gies and Shirley Schmidt. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, extended family, and friends.
