Hielkje De Haan Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hielkje De Haan (Duncan, British Columbia), who passed away on December 16, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Jan of Haan; her brother Harry Vissia; her brothers-in-law, Bill Weening and John Stevenson; her son Bill of Haan; and her children-in-law, Darreld Rayner, Marc Dupont and Daneen of Haan.

She is survived by: her siblings, Dorothy (Gerry), Ron (Willie), Gerry (Cheryl), Mike (Juliette), Theo (Alice), Linda, Judy (Jim), Helen and Nick; her children, Hinke, John (Sabine), Jinny (Harry), Arnie, Ann, Renita (Mark) and Shawn (Kelly); her daughter-in-law Deborah; and her children, Homecare Nurses, Kate, Brandy, Bonnie, Grace, Marilyn and Jason. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.

Due to COVID restrictions, no reception will follow.

She sewed, crocheted and knitted for everyone until her Parkinson Disease didn't allow for her hands to be steady.
