He was predeceased by : his former life partner Shirley. He is survived by : his wife Marion; his children, Doug (Linda) and Cathy; his stepson Kevin Smith; and his brother Frank. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Cowichan Hospice House or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
