Sylvia Caroline Fretz Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Caroline Fretz (Kaleden, British Columbia), who passed away on January 7, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Hayter and Evelyn Hayter; her niece Christina Hayter; her nephew Myron Hayter; her brother-in-law Dennis Ewanchuk; and her grandson Aaron Derbyshire.

She is survived by: her husband Norman Fretz of Kaleden; her children, Geoff Preston (Jane) of Penticton and Glenda Derbyshire (Gordon) of West Kelowna; her grandchildren, Gloria Horning (Jack) of Kaleden, Samantha Preston, Shawn Derbyshire (Nadine), Cameron Derbyshire (Michelyn), Jonathan Derbyshire, Megan Horning and Marlee Horning; her stepchildren, Jamie Fretz, Stone, Christine Fretz, Richard Fretz, Kevin Fretz and Lynne Fretz; her grandchildren, Troy Fretz, Stone, Arin Fretz, Kenton Fretz, Taylor Fretz, Tianna Fretz, Norman Love, Shirley Fretz, Angela McDougall, Peter Edward Fretz, Zeph Fretz and Kassandra Fretz; and her siblings, Marvin Hayter (Sandy), Valerie Doty (Ken), Ken Hayter (Margaret), Don Hayter (Ilona), Daryl Hayter (Cynthia), Marlene Keen (Mike) and Sandra Ewanchuk (Garry). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Salvation Army in honour of our mom.
