He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie McQuarrie and Madeline McQuarrie; and his brother Jim McQuarrie. He is survived by: his sister Donna Standen (Fred); and his sister-in-law Carol McQuarrie. He is also survived by five nephews and one niece.
