He was predeceased by: his parents, Ida Florence Burrus Short (William Elliot Short) and B. C.. He is survived by: his wife Bev; his son Geoff; his daughter-in-law Nicole; his grandchildren, Jacob and Alyssa; his daughter Megan; his son-in-law Troy; his grandchildren, Maeve and Angus; his siblings, Beth, Gary and David; and his nieces and nephews, Rachel, Amy, Amber, Michael, Jason, Tanner and Brendan.

Brian and Bev left their beloved Salt Spring Island after his diagnosis with Alzheimer's Disease.
