It is with great sadness that the family of David Blakely announce his passing on July 1st, 2022, at the age of 60, after a courageous battle with cancer.

David has 5 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, which he loved with all his heart. David’s Aunt Shirley (Jim), Aunt Pat (Al), Uncle Garry and Michael, the love of his life Shelly, David’s best friends Fred (Karen), John, his friends within the biker community in Kamloops whom he called family, along with many friends across Canada & the U.S..
David was pre-deceased by his Mother Elinor, Father Barry, Grandparents, Aunt Rosemarie and Uncle Al.
David loved life. His passion was getting on his Harley and hitting the road to no-where or racing with his biker friends to see who was the fastest.
“There are a lot of people hurting right now because we had to say good-bye to this wonderful gentleman. He gave of himself freely to his family, friends and his country. He was guided by a huge sense of honour, a slightly naughty sense of humor and a degree of loyalty that you don't come across very often in a lifetime. David was the guy who always had your back, would go out of his way to help others and loved adventure so much he drove his new Harley to Phoenix just " to break it in". He knew what it was to fight hard-from his days jumping out of planes with the Princess Patricia's Infantry to the cancer that took his life. At ease brother. We all love you.”
The family would also like to thank the staff at Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice, for all their support and kindness in caring for our brother. A special thank-you to his family physician Dr. Cribb, as well as the doctors at the BC Cancer Clinic in Kelowna.
A Celebration of Life for Dave will be held on Aug 27th, 2022. Friends and family will meet at Barnes Harley-Davidson in Kamloops at 10 a.m. A ride will take place in his honour out to Six Mile Look Out, which was one of his favourite spots. After the ride, friends and family will gather at Tumbleweeds Neighbourhood Pub for the afternoon to share stories and be together to celebrate Dave.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dave’s memory to Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice in Kamloops, BC.
