She was predeceased by: her parents, Nick Nicholson and Tilly Nicholson; her siblings, Connie, Helen and George; and her grandsons, Trent, Brandon, Cody and Nick.

She is survived by: her children, Doug (Monique), Karen (Ron), Mark (Heather) and Bob (Sandy); and her husband Kay Strate. She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, and 7 Great-Grandchildren.

Due to the debilitating degree of her Alzheimer's for the past decade, Georgie was unable to have a relationship with her great grandchildren.
