Luigi Torchia Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Luigi Torchia (Kamloops, British Columbia), who passed away on January 20, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Torchia and Gabriele Torchia; his significant other Giulia; and his sisters, Carolina (Francesco Lucia) and Giuseppina (Francesco Scalise).

He is survived by: his daughters, Anna Scalise (Nito) and Tina Rebs (Stephan); his grandchildren, Mariette Scalise, Julie Tuba (Martin), Antonietta Mercuri (Peter), Gina Scalise (Kuda Gwandekwande) and Paul Rebs; his great grandchildren, Giovanna, Nito Mercuri, Bowen and Paxton Tuba; his siblings, Serafina Spada (Antonio), Isabella Scalise, Franca Comita (Luigi), Maria Ilic (Mike) and Giuseppe Torchia (Lina); and his nephews, Dominic (Gina) and Gabe Lucia (Concetta). He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

Due to Covid restrictions, a funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help for the immediate family only.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Luigi's honour to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation.
