With sadness, we share the passing of Richard Stanley Blackwell (Kamloops, British Columbia). Richard, born on December 12, 1950, passed away on August 29, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Gordon Kingsbury and Joyce Kingsbury; his foster sister Carla Johnson; and his brother-in-law Ted Kingsbury. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Blackwell; his daughters, Marie Weisbeck and Ricci Blackwell (Ahmed); his grandchildren, Patrick Marsico (Liam), Ryan Blue (Khatia), Joshua Blue (Emily) and Gabriella Weisbeck; his foster parents, Maureen Johnson and Ivan Johnson; his brother Dave Blackwell (Dianne); his foster sister Lisa Szauter (Jamie); and his in-laws, Danny Kingsbury (Dawn), Maryann Stallings (Jim), Rose Henry (Dave), Mike Kingsbury (Leanne) and Robbin Kingsbury. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Sandman Centre (300 Lorne St, Kamloops, BC V2C1W3).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Rick's memory to Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice.
