He was predeceased by: his parents, Leander Oakes and Alice Oakes; his daughter Sandra; and his brothers, Bill Oakes (Audry) and Lloyd Oakes (Ruth).
He is survived by: his daughters, Diana Wren (Bob) and Christina (Morgan); his grandchildren, Regan Swallow (Kristen), Ella and Tessa Emes; and his wife Louise Kingston.
