He was predeceased by: his former wife Mary; his brother Tom; his parents, Thomas and Harriet; his siblings-in-law, Joan, John B and John N; and his grandson Kyle.

He is survived by: his daughter Sue (David); his grandchildren, Brett and Leanne; his stepchildren, Ed, Dan, Peter, Andre, Louise, Janice, Maryann and Jeanne; his sister Sybil; and his sister-in-law Theresa.
