He was predeceased by: his former wife Sheila Clayton; and his sister Dorothy. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Anne Clayton; his daughters, Valerie and Alison; his grandchildren, Jamie, Stuart, Anna and Ian of Toronto, Ontario.; and his nephew Greg of Australia.
