Gerry was predeceased by his second wife, Leta Lavigne (née Williams) who was taken by COVID-19 three months earlier, leaving behind stepsons Ronald Amero (Barbara) and Daniel Amero (Veronica); and stepdaughter Sheila Ede (Leonard).
