He was predeceased by: his wife Margarete; and his brothers, Arthur, Erwin, Daniel, Wilhelm and Paul.

He is survived by: his sons, Robert (Mary) and Arnold (Olga); his grandchildren, Mathias (Kirstin), Alanah Neri Krantz (Brodie), Justine Zvada (Ivan) and Adam; his great grandchildren, Kyla, Dominic, Samuel and Adelynn; his sisters, Martha Luck, Frieda Grossmueller (Manfred), Lilli Liebau (Ray) and Sabine Anderson (Michael); and his sisters-in-law, Ellie Lehmann, Helen Lehmann and Marcy Lehmann. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
